Mark Downing

Teaches Softball: Pitching and Hitting. He teaches the basics to the advanced, always stressing good fundamentals and solid muscle development.

Background: Mark has been coaching softball and baseball for over 23 years. He has 80 hours of coaching clinic hours and has attended several pitcher/catcher camps to learn the game from the collegiate level.

Mark is currently the assistant coach at Wakefield HS and has assisted the varsity program at Wake Forest Rolesville High School. And as JV coach at Wake Forest Rolesville, he took over an 0-18 program and took it to back-to-back conference championships in his first two years.

He formed the 'Wake Forest Rockers' team to help develop the area girls so they could compete for State titles at the Varsity level. Girls from the Rockers team have helped to build a Wake Forest Rolesville program that has not lost a conference game in over 6 years and made the State 4A final four twice. Mark has coached the Rockers teams to over 380 victories in the past 7 years during which time they placed high in several national events.

His hitting students are found all over the area and his pitching students are competing for several colleges and for many area schools at the middle and high school levels.
